Veneers are used to fix gaps between teeth, or to cover teeth that are crooked, stained or broken. Recently, veneers have also become a popular alternative to orthodontics. In mild cases, when someone wants their teeth to look more straight for simply aesthetic reasons, Dr. Goldstein may recommend veneers instead of braces. Veneers give the appearance of more perfect teeth by filling in gaps between the teeth.
Veneers are thin shells made of tooth-colored porcelain that are designed to cover the front side of teeth. Using a model of your own teeth, Dr. Goldstein will construct the shells to be a customized fit. Placing veneers over the top of your teeth is a permanent treatment and the process is irreversible. With porcelain veneers, you get the look of straight, white, even teeth!
